Technology Demonstration & Research Administrative Assistant
Linda is currently working in the Technology & Research department of the Walkerton Clean Water Centre, handling the administrative duties and providing proof reading for research projects and proposals.
Prior to this new position, Ms. Cranston worked as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors for the Centre for three years. She was also instrumental in the initial set-up of the Walkerton Clean Water Centre, working with Janus Global Consulting and the Ministry of the Environment, from December 2004 until being hired full-time at the Centre in June 2005. Another capacity of her work, at that time included the review of contract proposals, RFP's and assisting with the execution of those documents
Much of Ms. Cranston's career experience was within the Municipal Sector of Government. She worked for several years as a Municipal Clerk, in both rural and urban municipalities, in Southern Ontario. Besides the Municipal background, it also provided a sound knowledge of the requirements for a secure supply of safe clean drinking water.
During her position as the Clerk-Treasurer for the Township of Goderich, she served as a member of the Task Force for Ground Water Management Study and Well Water Pilot Project for Huron County. She also served as a member of the Economic Development Committee and was the Environmental Coordinator for the Town of Wingham.
She is a long term member of the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario.
