Mobile Training Units
To facilitate access to high-quality on-site training for small drinking water system owners, operators, and operating authorities across Ontario, the Centre introduced a self-contained drinking water training and technology demonstration mobile training unit (MTU).
The MTU is equipped with leading-edge drinking water treatment demonstration equipment. The MTU has a class room and a laboratory that includes wide range of equipment from handheld colorimeter, turbidimeter, spectrophotometer and a jar tester for training.
The Centre currently operates three MTUs, and through contracts with Confederation College of Applied Arts and Technology in Thunder Bay and Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology in Sault Ste. Marie, is able to provide on-site training throughout Northwestern and Northeastern Ontario. The third MTU, headquartered in Walkerton, is currently focusing to provide training in Southern and Southwestern Ontario.
