Training

The Walkerton Clean Water Centre focuses primarily on ensuring that training, education and information is available and accessible to owners, operators and operating authorities of Ontario's drinking water systems, especially those serving small, remote communities, including First Nations. Flexibility in service, technology demonstration, correspondence courses and online learning will ensure access to operators throughout Ontario, including Northern Ontario.

The Centre provides training courses that are mandated by the Ministry of the Environment, tested by engineers and training professionals, and delivered by professional trainers experienced in the drinking water industry. The Centre also develops and delivers specialized courses on advanced water treatment and advanced technologies to provide operators and operating authorities with the information and education needed to operate broad water treatment technologies used in water treatment systems (e.g. ozone, UV, membrane systems, etc.), and to provide them with information on emerging issues and challenges in the industry (e.g. Disinfection Byproducts (DBPs), Endocrine Disruptor Compounds, etc.).
